Nostalgia Day 8th July 2009
Instead of having a parent's evening in the summer term where we all have individual appointments that last but a few minutes, we have an open evening which enables parents and children to walk around the whole school and look at work in other classes. Many children and parents use it as an opportunity to meet next year's teacher and have a look at what might be to come.
This year we did things slightly differently, not only were pupils and parents invited into school, we opened the school to anyone in Rayleigh who wished to see what our school was like. In many cases we were vbisted by ex-pupils some of whom were in the school many years ago. They were delighted to be invited back and see how the school had changed since they were pupils here.
On the same day we also had the offical opening of our new school entrance and improvements. The new entrance was opened by Mr Ernie Lane, an ex pupil and local historian, and one of our newest pupils from the Summer intake into reception, Emily Lane.

Mr Ernie Lane, Mrs Betty Lane, Mr Malcom and Emily cut the ribbon to our new entrance.
