Dear Year 6 Parents,
This is the second of our termly letters to inform you of the modules that we will be covering this spring, which can also be found on the year six pages of the school website (www.rayleighprimary.org.uk) , as well as any other relevant information. I must also apologise for the delay in sending this out to you.
1. Science Life Processes
2. Creative Talking Textiles
3. History Britain since the 1930s (particularly featuring World War II)
4. PSCHE Healthy Lifestyle
The research project will coincide with the History module this term and will be given out to start over the half term, giving the pupils chance to visit the library before returning to school if they wish. The children will be required to complete a typed or hand-written project in their own words over approximately a three week period. As before in year six, it is anticipated that they will included added extras to the standard criteria of 15 pages, such as bibliographies (sources from where their information is gathered), interviews etc. The pupils will again all be fully informed of expectations at this level and are obviously encouraged to speak to their class teacher with any questions.
Regarding the PGL trip, the children (and staff) are very excited that it is coming up (March 15th to 19th). We look forward to another superb week with year 6 and are happy to answer any questions you may have nearer the time.
If you have any queries during the term, please do not hesitate to make an appointment, through the office, to speak to either of us before or after school.
Yours faithfully,
D. A. MASON (MRS.) D.E. MOTHERSHAW
