Homework
This is given on a weekly basis, usually on a Thursday, and must be returned by the following Thursday. It normally consists of a literacy sheet and a numeracy sheet. Occasionally one of these may be replaced by homework linked to our current module. Timestables are tested every week and should the pupil need to work on these they know that they are also tested on a Thursday. Spellings are given out on a Monday and are tested on a Friday.
Research topics are given out at various stages over the school year and the children have approximately 3 to 4 weeks to complete these. Some research topics may form part of the ICT classwork and therefore do not need to be worked on at home.
Autumn term research project is on Mountains. It can also be about a mountain range or the life of a mountain explorer and needs to be completed and in school by Thursday 19th November. The children know that it is to be at least 15 pages long, including a front cover and contents page. Work is not to be cut and pasted from the internet, but websites can be used to find out information and put into their own words.
