Opening our eyes to the rest of the world is crucial today. Understanding how other cultures and nations live and work and being able to recognise the similarities and celebrate the differences will make our pupils global citizens. At Rayleigh Primary School we are pleased to work with children from all around the world. Our work with schools around the world has resulted in us being awarded the British Council's International School Award.
We have worked with schools in; Kenya, Denmark, Scotland, France, China, Australia, Germany, Greeceand Thailand. Our staff have also been involved in exchanges to Australia, America, France, and Turkey. Some of the links we make are just for 'One off' projects, others are to build long term working partnerships.
We work closely with E'cole Publique L'Huisserie in Laval, the west of France. We have twice played host to children form L'Huisserie in our school and hope in the near future some of pupils will be able to go and visit their school in France.
At the moment we are in the planning stages of two 'Commenius Projects' which will involve a good deal of work with our international friends. Keep coming back to this area of the site and see how our international journey develops.
