| A visit by children from L'ecole Publique L'Huisserie
Since November 2007 we have been working with children from a small French town called L'Huisserie. All of our children from nursery to Year Six have exchanged work with their counterparts in France. June 2008 and May 2009 we were visited by children from CM2 (The French equivilant of Year Six). Each year Monsieur Travers, the headteacher, organises their school trip to be a European expedition. They travel to England, then go through Belgium, into Germany, then from Germany through Lichtensein back to France. The French children worked with our children and also German children in a partner school there.
This year's visit was a 'flying visit' as the only time they could come was at the end of our SATs week. Nevertheless, our Year Six children met the French children when they arrived on Thursday evening and they played together on the playground, then on Friday morning after a maths SAT they were able to go shopping with the French pupils and buy lunch, then all of Year Six & CM2 shared a meal together. It was a terrific experience (if a little brief). It was wonderful to watch the children communicating with eachother, sometimes in the Frenc or English they had learnt other times in what ever way they could.
It is very much our hope that we will be able to get our children tovisit L'Huisserie in the future.

One thing that always stikes the children is that we wear uniforms and they don't.
All friends together.

Year Six wave goodbye to their new friends.
