| Henry VIII Pageant Information
Friday 22nd May 2009
Dear Parents
Thank you for your support and enthusiasm so far
The pageant on Friday morning is a brilliant opportunity for us to share our work with each other and our community, and we are delighted with the numbers of family members who have said they would like to come and join in the event. The King is due to arrive at 10:30 and we all need to be in place to receive him by then. Parents are asked to come to the playground gate by Nursery for 10:15 am so we can let you onto the playground at the end of break time and get into position.
At the start of the pageant the king will process across the playground to the Quiet Area, his beloved subjects will line the path and cheer appropriately. You will also need to bow or curtsey, your children have been taught what to do ask them to teach yu what to do. The children will be in the classes and parents will be behind. When the king is installed upon his dias we then will move the children down onto the hard surfaces of the Quiet Area with family members staying outside the Pergola area.
We will then make a series of presentations to the king of music, song, dance, foods, banners and a whole array of other work we have completed during the week.
At 12:30 we will process from school into the town and on to King George's Playing Field where we will have a picnic lunch. You are welcome to follow the procession and have lunch at the park. At the end of lunch ALL children will return to school and can be collected as usual at the end of the day.
We hope you will have fun and join us in celebrating the excellent work our children have been doing this week and look forward to seeing you on Friday
